Configuring Thunderbird using IMAP

1.  Open Mozilla ThunderBird
2.  Click Tools, Click on Account Settings
3.  Click the button Account Actions
4.  Select Add Mail Account
5.  Type in your Name
6.  Type in your Email Address
7.  Type in your Password
8.  Click Continue

The program will automatically search for valid email server information.  Verify that:

The incoming mail server is: mail.myactv.net

The protocol should be set to IMAP, port 993

Authentication should be SSL/TLS

 

The outgoing mail server is mail.myactv.net

The protocol should be set to SMTP, port 465

Authentication should be SSL/TLS

 

If this information is incorrect, click Edit, and input the correct information.

Once this information is correct, click Create Account.

 

Your account is now setup.
